This is an amazing generation but we have disabled them by over protection, by hovering.  It is outwardly obvious that learning comes in many forms.  We often learn through failure.  If we prevent a child from experiencing failure, then we are denying them a learning experience. It is as simple as that.

If parents see a child&#039;s struggle as necessary, maybe they can allow it to occur.  It feels so good to a child, when they figure something out or they master something that was difficult.  We see this when they are toddlers and independent teens!
